The Family Resources Foundation was incorporated in March of 2009 in response to the strategic plan of Family Resources. Our purpose is to increase entrepreneurial opportunities that will lead to private sector revenue streams for Family Resources as well as philanthropic community support and involvement on behalf of Family Resources. We do not provide funding to any other community not-for-profit organization.
For over 39 years, Family Resources has provided excellent service to the children and families of Pinellas and Pasco counties and for over 18 years, the Manatee county community. With dwindling federal and state support jeopardizing the continuation of some of the most needed community programs Family Resources offers, there has never been a more appropriate time to focus on growth and expansion of efforts to increase Family Resources' visibility in the community and its base of private support. We have been very busy "building a foundation" to ensure our success.
In October of 2009, Family Resources Foundation purchased the Second Image Thrift Store. With a successful 17 year history and a large customer base, Second Image Thrift Store is now charitably owned and has been relocated to a new storefront location in Pinellas Park, Florida. Maintaining the reputation of being "Tampa Bay's Finest Thrift Store", Second Image boasts over 20,000 items for sale with new merchandise daily.
In addition to the thrift store operation, the Family Resources Foundation conducts the fundraising activities on behalf of Family Resources each year. We welcome your interest and involvement in helping to raise community awareness and dollars to support the programs of Family Resources.
